Eagle Rare 10 Year Bourbon Review

Finding Eagle Rare at or near MSRP used to be a no-brainer for me. At one point, I may or may not have had a closet full of the stuff. It was my tried-and-true daily drinker when I first moved to Washington, D.C.
At the time, Early Times Bottled-in-Bond—my previous daily drinker—wasn't available in the area. That may have changed by now. I left in 2023, and with it now being a Sazerac product, they tend to have a way of getting their brands where they need to be.
Now that I'm back in Texas, I find myself wondering how Eagle Rare will hold up in my mind. Will it still be the dependable favorite I remember, or has time, experience, and an ever-growing bourbon shelf changed my perspective for this bourbon review ?
There's only one way to find out.

Final Thoughts
Eagle Rare is still a solid bourbon. The low-rye mash bill and approachable proof help tame many of the flavors that newer bourbon drinkers can find challenging. Looking back, that's probably part of what drew me to it in the first place.
I think most of us start our bourbon journey gravitating toward sweeter, lower-proof pours before eventually finding our own path. Eagle Rare fits that role exceptionally well. It's balanced, approachable, and easy to enjoy without demanding much from the drinker.
If you see it at retail it's still a buy all day long!
